Bohr and Bohm
Dropping another pair of updated albums from the archives: aphasein’s Bohr and Bohm albums are our original double-album pair from way back in 2000. They were conceived concurrently as two sides of the same coin, focusing on the subject of matter – one album about particles, the other about waves.
The album names and themes were hard to pass up when we realized the two most prominent scientists in the two major schools of quantum mechanics (one decidedly particle-based, the other predominantly wave-like) were named Niels Bohr and David Bohm (last names separated by a fraction of a letter). Respect.

10-track album originally created during 2000 in OctMED for PC; re-configured in ModPlug in 2022. The theme is more about the method of composition than the subject of the content; the album was our most discreet, poppy and tightly-programmed tracker album at that point. Hyper-epic pointilist-junglist videogame-adventure-theme-overdrive.

Bohm

9-track album recorded during 2000 in Cool Edit; re-ordered in 2022. The album explored a new technique of building up live improv recordings of drum sampler and keyboard tracks, often re-recording them over top and merging tracks (hence the wave nature). The new technique also a gave us a chance to throw a couple nods towards our influences in Autechre/Plaid/Prefuse 73-style glitch-beat IDM-ness.
