New Site: Protocol and Prototype

Welcome to the brand new Aphasein Records site. Originally created in 2007, Aphasein Records is home to several groups from several friends and has existed in varying forms over the years. After a hiatus, it is now refocusing around the electronic music of aphasein and other related solo projects. Take a journey with us through brand new aphasein releases and the best from our past.

To kick things off, today we have brand new releases Protocol and Prototype.

Protocol

Four-track EP written in early spring 2020. Started just before things kicked off and was informed by the progression of world events as more tracks developed. It’s been a strange time, but these tracks still have some hope despite the magnitude.

Prototype

Four-track companion EP written in late spring 2020. Prototype developed from Protocol to strip back the tracks to earlier versions and isolate the melodies more. Crystals was the catalyst, with its original iteration featuring some icy 80’s synth vibes that were too fun to miss.
